Chapmanslade has a Defibrillator
We were very pleased that Chapmanslade was chosen as part of the Defibrillator ring around Frome. The equipment was installed on 2nd February 2015, on the outside wall of the THREE HORSESHOES pub courtesy of “The Friends of Frome Hospital” and has been available ready for use every day since. Chapmanslade has a small team who regularly check that it is fully functional, reporting back if there are any issues that require attention.
The village held an AWARENESS & FUNDRAISING DAY on 26th September 2015 staffed by para-medics where the equipment was demonstrated, together with resuscitation techniques. The key message was & remains that the defibrillator can be used by anyone with common sense & training is not required. If you do need to use it, the 999 operator will talk you through it.
We hope that the defibrillator will never be needed! - but the Parish Council is grateful for the donation of the defibrillator, the time given by the team and to all those in the village who attended the awareness day & everyone who supports this excellent project. Thank you!
