Wine Tasting Evening
If you missed this one you'll have to wait until the next one
The evening started promptly at 7.30 and the hall was buzzing with more than 50 people attending. Tables were laid with table cloths and even candles. The kitchen and the bar were frantic areas of activity as the wines for the evening were prepared and our meal was being set up.
David Gerhardt was the compere for the evening and kept us captivated throughout the evening with an informative, engaging and amusing talk. He made a fabulous job of educating and encouraging some who were not well versed in the details of wine, grapes or even geography!
After the first three wines we had a break for a delicious ploughmans supper prepared by Sue, Denise and helpers.... served with more wine. When everyone had had their fill, plates were cleared and we continued tasting
Round two, gave us three more wines to taste, red wines more my cup of tea (or glass of wine) and as we tasted each I'm sure the wines were getting stronger, or taking effect. We had a very good time.
Thank you to Sue Waterman for putting a tremendous amount of work into organising this new event for the hall. Thank you also to David for keeping us informed and entertained. Thanks to our special wine waiters Ken, David and Chris and also to everyone else who helped and supported this event. (hic!)
